Mt.Gyachung Kang (7,952m) Expedition

Mt.Gyachung Kang is situated in the Khumbu Himalaya region. Mount Gyachung Kang is lies between Cho Oyu (8,201m) and Mount Everest (8,850m). Mt. Gyachung kang was first climbed in 1964 by Y. Kato, K. Sakaizawa and Pasang Phutar of a Japanese expedition . The north face of the mountain was first climbed in 1999 by a Slovene expedition and was repeated by Yasushi Yamanoi in 2002. Mount Kantega expedition offers stunning Himalayan views of Everest region including the Mt. Everest 8848m, Mt Lhotse 8516m, Mt. Makalu 8463m , Mt.Cho Oyu 8201m, Mt. Kangchung 6063m, Mt. Amadablam 6856m, Mt. Thamserku 6723m, Mt. Pumori 7161m, Mt. Kusum Khagaru 6367m, Mt. Kongde 6011m, Mt.Twache peak 6367m, Mt. Cholaste 6335m, Island peak 6179m , Mera peak 6421m,etc, Tibetan sherpa cultures.
Mt. Gyachung kang expedition commence from Lukla after 35 minutes spectacular scheduled flight from Kathmandu on a small aircraft will take you to the gateway to the Everest region then commence trek to Phakding and we continue to classical route to Namche Bazzar. We will spend two nights at Namche Bazzar for acclimatization. From Namche we go through Dole Machhermo Gokyo then head towards Gyachung kang base camp. We spend couple of day at base camp for climbing training such as; how to use Oxygen, mask and regulator and other mountain equipments . Generally, three camps are set in the approach above the Gyachung kang base camp (5350m) and Mantare Himmalayan Treks professional climbing sherpa / guide will take to you Mount Gyachung Kang summit then back to Lukla through Everest base camp or direct to Namche.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathamndu 1334m, transfer to hotel Mt.Gyachung Kang Expedition briefing with officially arrangements. Overnight at kathmandu.
Day 02: After breakfast, excursion around Kathmandu valley, Leisure time in Kathmandu. overnight at Kathamndu
Day 03: After breakfast, excursion around Kathmandu valley, our representative will procedure for Mount Gyachung Kang expedition permit and preparation for Mount Gyachunga kang
Day 04: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, 2800m and trek to Phakding, 2640m.
Day 05: Trek to Namche Bazaar, 3446m.
Day 06: Trek to Khumjung, 3790m.
Day 07: Khumjung. Acclimatization day and changing of porters and yaks.
Day 08: Trek to Dole, 4200m.
Day 09: Trek to Macchermo, 4410m.
Day 10: Trek to Gokyo Lake, 4750m.
Day 11: Gokyo. Acclimatization day.
Day 12: Trek to Ngozumba Tso, 4998m
Day 13: Trek to Gyachung Kang Base Camp, 5350m.
Day 14-43: Climbing Period.
Day 44: Base Camp cleaning.
Day 45: Trek to Gokyo Lake.
Day 46: Trek to Khumjung.
Day 47: Trek to Phakding.
Day 48: Trek to Lukla. Overnight in lodge.
Day 49: Fly to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 50: After breakfast, , Mantare Himalayan tour guide will take to you historical monuments sightseeing around Kathmandu valley such as Boudhhanath : visit Bodhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa thanvisit Pashupatinath: the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Here you see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats. Kathmandu durbar square: you will enjoy with different Hindus Temple, Goddes Kumari, legend of kathmadu valley and in the evening farewell dinner in Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at Kathmandu
Day 51: After breakfast, relaxing or shopping with own activities than Mantare Himalayan Treks & expedition airport representative will drop to you Kathmandu international airport for onward destination.

  1. All land transportation by Car, Van, Hiace or, tourist Bus (Airport/Hotel/Airport, expedition pick up & drop)
  2. Hotel accommodations in Kathmandu at 3 star Hotel on Bed & Breakfast plan (before & after expedition)
  3. Airfare Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu
  4. Transport of food supply and expedition equipments to Base Camp and back.
  5. Full board in lodges during trekking to base camp and back.
  6. All kitchen tent, store tent, dining tents, toilet tent, table & chairs & cooking utensils for Base Camp.
  7. Base Camp single sleeping tent & Mattress for each member, BC staffs & Liaison officer.
  8. Food and fuel at Base Camp.
  9. Service of cook and kitchen boy at Base Camp.
  10. Service of Government Liaison officer.
  11. Equipments allowance, wages of cook, kitchen boys & Liaison officer.
  12. Insurance of cook, kitchen boy, Liaison Officer and porters.
  13. Government fee for expedition and conservation fee
  14. One high altitude Sherpa per climber to carry all food & gear to higher camps. Also assist the member during climb & summit attempt
  15. 4 oxygen bottles (4 lts) per member with mask and regulator (for use only) " Poisk oxygen system"
  16. Common climbing equipment (necessary rope, ice bars, ice screws, etc).
  17. Walkie-talkies for each member base unit at Base Camp.
  18. High altitude food.
  19. High altitude fuel.
  20. High altitude tents.
  21. 2 Expedition duffel bag for each member.
  22. Generator or, Solar panel at Base Camp for light and charging.
  23. Sat Phone available at Base Camp, but nominal charge for use.
  24. Emergency medical oxygen at Base Camp.
  1. International airfare from/to your country.
  2. Nepal entry visa fee (can be obtained at the airport upon arrival).
  3. Lunch and dinner during your stay in Kathmandu.
  4. Hotel after 5 night stay in Kathmandu.
  5. Personal climbing gear and equipment above Base Camp
  6. Personal insurance such as travel, accident, medical, emergency evacuation & lost luggage. Applicable permit fees and customs charges and commercial filming
  7. Oxygen & Mask and regulator (will be provided as per request)
  8. Expenses of personal nature such as drinks, laundry, postage, telephone etc.
  9. Tips and bonuses.
  10. Garbage deposit fee.
